About Me


I am a college student at UW-Stout pursuing a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. From my earliest years of making chocolate chip cookies and homemade ice cream with my mom, the kitchen has been my favorite place. I could literally spend hours admiring the different spices, grains, fruits, and vegetables at health food stores. Some find it crazy how often I am baking, cooking, reading about nutrition, or looking up recipes. 

When I was a child, healthy food was never the most pleasant thing to me. Don't get me wrong; I still ate it because that is what my mom made. Barely ever would we have prepackaged gushers, animal crackers, or fruit roll-ups. However, my taste and likes have taken a one-eighty turn. Over the past few years, my cooking and baking has changed. I try to aim towards using healthy ingredients. Many of my recipes include alternative ingredients different from what many people are used to using. I want the food that I make to serve a purpose for people's health and be delicious. Trust me, it will be a surprise to see how the different ingredients make a delectable dish or dessert! Do not shy away from trying new things. I have found immense satisfaction in knowing I am making good food that is going to benefit my health rather than hinder it. 

My passion for cooking and baking has led me to practically take over the kitchen. My mom, though happy I was cooking dinner often, claims that she is not going to remember how to cook anymore. Whenever I make something, she is fascinated on how something so different could taste so delicious. She kept asking for the recipes so that she could make them again. Instead of printing them all off, I decided to create this food blog where they will all be readily accessible to her and anyone else who finds them useful. 

I hope that my own recipes and the recipes from other bloggers that I have included in my selection will be an encouragement to eat healthier and change lifestyles. There is a wide range of recipes catering to gluten free, refined sugar free, Paleo diets, and dairy free dietary needs. Enjoy and eat up!
